Terms of Warranty

  • This warranty is valid for New Zealand only.

  • All products marketed and distributed in New Zealand by MJD Enterprises Limited are covered by a conditional warranty valid from date of original purchase and applies only to the original purchaser. The term of the warranty period varies from product to product but is stated in the product data sheets on our website. www.weiss.co.nz

  • The warranty covers faults arising from defective materials or components, faulty workmanship or assembly. MJD Enterprises reserves the right to inspect all products and repair or replace any warranty item at its sole discretion.

  • The warranty comprises of a 12-month warranty on lamps, 2 years on electronics and the remainder of the warranty period on all other parts. The customer shall ensure that the goods are fit and suitable for the purpose for which they are required, and the company is under no liability if they are not. This warranty is limited to the product only and is dependent on it being returned to the point of purchase if service is required. If the product was supplied with a plug and this has been removed and the product has been permanently wired, MJD Enterprises ltd will not cover the cost of removal and re-installation of the product in the event of any claim.

Conditions

This warranty is invalidated:

  • If the appliance is not installed, operated and maintained to comply with the installation instructions contained in the instructions for use and installation handbook.

  • If the appliance is installed in such a way that does not comply with the electrical wiring regulations, gas, plumbing and Building code practices.

  • If misuse or abuse of the appliance occurs or is operated outside the instructions contained in the instructions for use and installation manual.

  • If the appliance is used for any purpose other than normal private household use.

  • If a defect arises from ordinary wear and tear, excessive heating, neglect or misuse of the product, accident, lack of care or insufficient maintenance or improper use of goods.

  • If a defect arises from any act, matter or thing beyond the control of MJD Enterprises Ltd.

  • If incorrect supply voltages are connected to the product or there are mains supply problems.

  • If the appliance has in any way been modified, serviced or repaired without MJD Enterprises limited prior written consent.

This warranty does not extend to:

  • Damage to surface coatings caused by wear & tear, accident, negligence, alteration misuse cleaning or maintenance.

  • Defects caused by foreign objects, substances or pests.

  • Defects caused by normal wear & tear, accident, negligence, alteration or misuse.

  • A product dismantled, repaired or serviced by any serviceman other than an authorised service agent.

  • Or any incidental or consequential loss or damage resulting from the defect, removal, reinstallation, shipment or otherwise.

Please Note

  • Do not cut the plug off any product supplied with one.

  • Incorrect use, wiring, installation or modification of a product means it is not covered by the warranty.

  • The cost to remove and replace a defective product, that was supplied with a plug but instead has been hardwired will not be covered by the warranty.

  • All products supplied with a plug have a return to base warranty.

  • When used in commercial or industrial situations this warranty is limited to 120 days (3 months).

  • Any repairs or replacement will be covered by the balance of the warranty period from the date of original purchase.

  • The electrical connection of this product must be completed by an authorized person and must comply with all local electrical regulations, a Certificate of compliance (COC) is required for a warranty claim.

  • All hardwired installations must be completed by an authorized person, and installed in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 ‘Wiring Rules’and a Certificate of compliance (COC) is required for a warranty claim.
